Singapore Airlines

Singapore Airlines is one of the most awarded airlines in the world. It's one of Asia's prides. Singapore Airlines’ globally acclaimed standards have won the organization multiple awards, ranging from a place on Fortune Magazine’s list of Top 50 Most Admired Companies in 2021 to being awarded the Highest Diamond Rating in the APEX Health Safety powered by SimpliFlying audit of global airlines. It has been ranked as the world's best airline by Skytrax four times and has topped Travel & Leisure's best airline rankings for more than 20 years. Singapore Airlines was voted as the Skytrax World's Best Airline Cabin Crew 2019. The airline has also won the second and fourth positions as the World's Best Airlines and World's Cleanest Airlines, respectively, in 2019.

Consistently voted one of the world's top three airlinesfor the past decade, the company could only wait for the pandemic to run its course. Singapore Airlines simply beat the coronavirus pandemic and came out ahead. Singapore Airlines Ltd said it expects passenger capacity to reach about 81% of pre-pandemic levels by December 2022 as flyers rush to the skies after the easing of COVID-19 curbs.

First formed in 1972, Singapore’s flag carrier airline is best known for its multiple travel accolades and impeccable service standards, embodied in its kebaya (traditional nonya dress)-clad flight attendants (famously known as the Singapore Girl).

Singapore Airlines is one of the region's largest airlines by revenue and carrying capacity. The company's hub is Changi Airport, providing regional and cross-continental passenger and cargo services destined for or transiting through Singapore. The company offers these services under various airline brands such as Singapore Airlines, SIA Cargo and Scoot. SIA offers airframe maintenance and overhaul services; line maintenance; technical ground handling services; fleet management; technical and non-technical handling services; and repair and overhaul of hydro-mechanical aircraft equipment.

The company also manufactures aircraft cabin equipment and refurbishes aircraft galleys. It provides training for pilots, air charters, and tour wholesale. The company operates in East Asia, the South West Pacific, Europe, the Americas, West Asia, and Africa. SIA is headquartered in Singapore.

Singapore Airlines Destinations

The entire Singapore group offers routes throughout Asia, serves destinations in Europe, Australia, Africa, and North America Singapore Airlines presently operates the longest flight in the world, a non-stop to New York (JFK), using the Airbus A350-900ULR.

In response to the strong demand for air travel, Singapore’s flag carrier airline will increase its services to Japan, India, Los Angeles, and Paris. SIA will increase services to Japan and India and will also add more flights to Los Angeles and Paris by December 2022. The airline’s direct services to Vancouver will continue.

Baggage

When you fly, there are limits to the weight and/or number of pieces of baggage you can check in or carry on board. Certain limitations and restrictions also apply, and these may differ by country and airline. Your check-in and cabin baggage may also be subjected to security measures mandated by the relevant authorities.

Since you won’t have access to baggage that you have checked in, we recommend that you carry all your travel documents, medication, and valuables in your cabin baggage, which will be with you throughout your flight. You should also remember to label your checked baggage with your name and contact information.

Cabin baggage

When you fly with us, you can carry up to two bags into the cabin with you depending on your class of travel. You must also be able to stow your baggage securely in the overhead compartment or under the seat in front of you. Given the current COVID-19 pandemic, however, we encourage customers to travel as lightly as possible to ensure a smoother boarding process.

Checked baggage

Your checked baggage allowance is based on the weight or piece concept, depending on your final destination. When you book a flight with us, your free baggage allowance will be indicated on your ticket

  • Economy: 2 pieces (up to 50 pounds (23 kg)
  • Premium Economy: 2 pieces (up to 50 pounds/23 kg)
  • Business: 2 pieces (up to 70 pounds/32 kg).
  • Suites & First: 2 pieces (up to 70 pounds/32 kg)
